JAPAN OUR NEW FINANCIAL CRISES

The trouble with placing all your eggs in one basket. Break one and the rest look terrible.

Like eggs in a basket, our finances touch so many other countries that their disasters become ours.

For a while everyone was worried about the USA, being tied to a financial string that was controlled by the Chinese. We had good reason to worry. Our relationship with China is very new. It started over a ping pong match during the Nixon years.

For the time being we have placed China on the back burner of our financial problems. Today, we fear that Japan, our second largest buyer of bonds may call them due. .

What do you do when you find yourself in a financial crisis? You start emptying the saving accounts. After all one of the reasons you were saving was to be prepared for a rainy day.

The rain in Japan is in form of radiation.

They will be forced to sale bonds in order to rebuild and clean up.

Now, back to China. Everyone says they need us as much as we need them. That is pure baloney. Ask you banker will he go broke if you empty your stash. The lender always has leverage over the borrower. The bible states the borrower is a slave to the lender.

When Japan starts selling off our debt China will decide it is time to renegotiate.

The Russians proclaimed years ago they would take us without firing a shot. They weren’t able to follow through. The Chinese on the other hand may have a chance.

Many of you are saying, “Gary you are , Chicken Little running around screaming the sky is falling.”

Perhaps, but if I am right we are in for a rocky ride.

Have a good day and occasionally look up.
