A hundred years ago or so it seems I was in the army. I spent the best part of a year and half in Ft. Hood Texas.

The local police off base  always seemed to get a bad rap from the troops on base. It was said they were more interested in arresting someone than helping them.

Somewhere on their badges it read to serve and protect.

Well, now that I am much older and more mature. I must admit this must have been wrong. I just got an email from a friend of mine that still lives in Texas.

The following is a portion of his email.

The local police department reported finding a man’s body last Saturday around sundown in the Pedernales River near the state highway-87 bridge. You might remember the area. They wouldn’t release the dead man’s name until his family had been notified.

A friend of mine on the force shared with me that the man apparently drowned due to excessive beer consumption while visiting “someone” in Kerrville. He was wearing black fishnet stockings, 4 inch spiked heels, a red garter belt, a pink G-string, purple lipstick, dazzle dust on his eyelids, 1/2 inch false eyelashes and an Obama T-shirt.

He went on to say they removed the Obama T-shirt to spare his family any unnecessary embarrassment.

Gary, Texas police do care.
